Robert 'Bob' Spurdle was one of the New Zeland pilots that fought during WWII. Credited with 10 Victories during the war, Bob came over to the UK, and flew Spitfires with 74 Squadron initially. Later serving with 91 Sqn during the latter part of the Battle of Britain. He later joined 16 Sqn and fought in the Solomon Islands Campaign, returning to Europe with 80 Sqn to the war's end.
